Project Office: Kolkata

The Kolkata Branch Office of SAATHII was started in May 2002. Projects in the Kolkata Office focus on information dissemination, research, networking, advocacy and training on interlinked issues of gender, sexuality, human rights, sexual and reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support and treatment. This office implements programs in training and technical assistance with a focus on building the capacity of Kshamta Kendra, training unites for HIV prevention implementation teams in the eastern states.

Most of the Kolkata programs involve partnerships with voluntary and government agencies working with sexual minorities, People Living with HIV (PLHIV), women, youth and other vulnerable populations in eastern and northeastern India.

The Kolkata office contains and oversees a Reference Library with materials regarding sexuality, human rights, gender, sexual health, and HIV/AIDS.
